Hi.
Can anyone advise me if it is completely necessary to purchase the uv lamp for the particular system you will be using.
Thanks:?::?:

Thanks.
Thought so but worried about spending a fortune and then changing brand as new to system.

Which system are you using at the moment?

Trying out ez flow but their lamp is expensive.

You've chosen a respected brand... the lamp might be more expensive than you originally thought but well worth the investment. You can't risk overexposure by using a lamp that doesn't cure the gel properly, even if it looks cured :wink2:

Thank you - really appreciate the guidance.
Apparently there is a newer version which I simply cannot afford at £225 but the previous model should be ok if it is for the correct system, shouldn't it? It does not have in-built timer or fan, though.
x

If the previous model is for the same gel system then it should be fine, best to check with EZFlow to be sure.
Providing you can time the cures another way it will be ok, might be a bit fiddly not having the built in timer... not sure what the fan is for though as they don't really help with enamel drying, but are good for getting your clients to sit still while their enamel sets :wink2:

Thanks. Is it really worth paying when you can get respecable ones for far, far less,
:Scared:

Yes because you should use the lamp that is recommended for the brand you use :wink2:

Thanks. Suppose I wanted someone to say otherwise due to cost. You have made me feel better about it though.:DOnly just starting out and scared will spend fortune and not pick up clients. :Scared:

Those other lamps will more than likely not give you a full cure, therefore you're putting yourself and clients at risk of overexposure with repeated use from under cured gel.
This is one of the most important things that very often gets overlooked by gel technicians who are trying to save the pennies, it's definitely worth getting the correct lamp, you'll be investing in your business and also giving yourself peace of mind that you've got your clients best interests at heart.

What you generally find is that the generic gels (cheaper brands) can be cured by a weaker UV output (ie using 1 or 2 bulbs), there isn't as much research involved with them, hence the lower price... the more expensive you go the better the product (more often than not), more research, more time spent finding the best shape to have the lamp, the best bulb placement within the lamp (that's very important) and also the UV output of the bulbs.
With a higher end brand you will find the gel doesn't yellow or discolour, gives fantastic longevity, strength, clarity and most of all satisfied and happy clients :green:

Was looking at a 36w x 4 9w bulb lamp. Not the cheapest not the dearest.

Hi hon, as people have advised you, buy the correct lamp for the system, which as you are using EzFlow, would be the Ezflow lamp. It is not about using the cheapest or the dearest, it is about investing in your business.
If you purchase a lamp that is not suitable for your system, you and your clients could end up with over exposure, and then they would be unable to have gel applied, as once you are sensitised to a product, it is for life, and you would loose clients and you would be unable to work with the product as well. What seems like a cheaper alternative to start with could end up costing you a lot more in the long run, it could cost you your health and your business. Hope this helps:biggrin:

Hi. Yes it does. Was borrowing one to begin with but best to just bite the bullet as I do want to give my clients the best - hence choosing the product. Just that on the surface they seem to be almost identical.
Thank you.:D

Yes. Thank you.
