hi
my mum has vitiligo and is very self conscious of it. she is happy to try anything that will cover it.
ive done her a spray tan and it made some coverage but not the best.
i've searched google and i found a herbal tablet that wil bring back the melanin in the skin resulting in the skin bringing back its colour!!

has anyone got any advice or products that they know work??

xx

Has she tried camouflage make up? Obviously, it will not work on a permanent basis, but its very good for when she is going out .....

I'd say mineral make up for the face and neck and for the body, I'd use Dermablend.

Less is more though. Once she masters how to apply it, she'll be off and flying. I think the Red Cross do free courses to teach people how to apply camouflage make up. xxx

hi i worked at a cosmetic clinic doing facials which a product called skinceuticals, which is products backed by science and proven to work, they have a product called phyto corretive gel, your mum could use this on the darker area of the skin and it actually sends messages to stop the menalin from producing any more colour, which would lighten the darker skin. Skinceuticals have a sister brand called skin medica try looking them up

Hi, if the area isn't too big, she can have semi permanant makeup done (the color will be matched to her skin tone) it will not be 100% but very close i would say the color would be an 80%, however it is costly.

hope that helps

Hi

We used this at college Veil Cover Cream. Camouflage concealer for blemishes and tattoos but it was mainly the green and purple colours we used to cover dark circles under our eyes or red patches on our cheeks.

My lecturer did work for the local hospital also and used it to treat people with all sort of skin conditions that clients wanted covered up

Hi

I use Selsun, its a antidandruff shampoo. My doctor told me about it years ago. It stinks to high heaven and has to stay on for 24 hours. Then shower it of.
My melanin patches are dark and vary in colour and size, the doctor said it was a form of vitilgo re-melanin in the skin. I dont tan where the patches are either.
I have alot of patches at the moment as i get worse due to stress. I havn't had time to use the Selsun as i have not had 24 hours to sit alone indoors yet, lol.
Not sure if it would work but try it, sometimes i have to use it 2/3 times or for a week before it makes a difference.
