I'm wondering if there is anything I could read or do to prepare for my course! I will be starting in august and I can't wait! I will be doing a fulltime course it runs for a year! It's at clydebank college! could anyone tell me if they have been to this college?
Thank you for reading

Hi Moonlight

Is it special occasion or fashion, photo and TV etc you're interested in? There are some great books on Amazon to inspire you. The NVQ text books cover basic makeup application, but it would be a shame to spend the money on one when only one topic is relevant. Although you might find the skincare stuff useful too.

While you're waiting for your course to start, start practicing on friends, family etc. Even if you're a makeup junkie yourself it takes a while to get used to applying makeup on other people. It will also help you get used to different skintypes, colours, facial features etc. It doesn't matter that you haven't done your training yet, or even if you don't have much kit at the moment - just experiment and enjoy it. You'll also start to learn which products/brands you would like for your kit.

Good luck with it all! x

Sam & Nic Chapman (Pixiwoo on Youtube) are the same as www.fashionface.tv. You will learn an awful lot from them!

Hi
I did the VTCT training about 5 years ago, be warned it's more health and safety etc than makeup practise, so you need to do lots of your own research and practise. There's loads of great books for inspiration, here's a couple of good ones:
Makeup: The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris
Makeup Your Mind by Francois Nars
Jemma Kidd Make-up by Jemma Kidd
Plus anything from Bobbi Brown.

Good luck with your courses.
