Hey Geeks,

I have a spray tanning business but am studying for my ITEC Beauty Specialist. I have my wax pot now and had my first practice full leg wax out of college today.

I have the lotus essentials 500cc wax pot / starter kit. It is very good value for money as I am only practicing but I used the tea tree creme wax today and it was a bit messy. It took me 1 hour for a full leg but I am a bit worried that I missed some but she is going to give me feedback after she has a bath (after 24 hours) and checks out her legs but I still have a few questions.

On a full leg:

Is 45 minutes a good time to aim for?

What is the difference between creme and warm wax??

I found that it stuck to the knees in clumps. Took a few attempts to get off - does this mean I have spread it too thick??

Someone please give me some hope that I will get better with practice??

Sorry for all the questions, any advice appreciated xx

45 minutes is the correct time for a full leg, half is 30.

Try pulling in a different direction, still against the hair growth, when on the knee... It helps to get rid of the clumps!

The difference between creme and normal wax is that the creme is better suited to sensitive skin, whereas the other is for anyone else. At least that's how I remember it, someone else may be able to better answer that one!

Good luck with it all :)

Xx

And yes, practice makes perfect ;) when I was studying waxing at college, I got some friends and family together and spent a Saturday just waxing them all... It was amazing how much more confident I felt after that day alone... So don't despair!! Xx

45 mins is a good time for a full leg...1 hour for full leg and standard bikini line.
If wax is clumping at the knees you may be applying it too thickly, or clients skin could be dry. A thin layer of oil would help this befor you start to wax.

Hope this helps...this is a great tutorial to read to:

She did have dry knees! I did say to her that might be why.

Just worked out I used 26 paper strips and 3 spatulas. What is the average for a full leg??

Thanks for the thread - will have a read now xx
