Sue Davies, owner of Gorgeous Nail & Beauty Emporium, has launched a charity fundraiser, 'Fanuary', in her salon. The salon will donate £5 for every intimate waxing treatment they do throughout the month, to Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, following the death of Sue's friend, Karen Miller, last year.

Speaking to Scratch Magazine, Sue says, "Many women don’t realise the causes of cervical cancer, so hopefully this event will raise awareness so that more women attend the smear test screening when offered."

This is the second time she has run the event and is proud of the fact that it highlighted the disease and encouraged clients to attend their screening. The event has also been adopted by several other salons across the country and is being supported by Tibby Olivier and Strip Distribution.

Until then…geek on!
