Hi waxers. Do you have many or any at all over weight clients come in asking for Hollywoods or Brazilians. In our salon we only seem to get your average. So I wondered if it's the same all over.

I have one very large lady for regular Brazilians. Mine are a real mixed bunch. Young, old etc

Bit of a strange question to ask? Does it matter what size the client is if they want a hollywood or Brazilian wax?

All I would say is I'm really glad I did the proper training and was able to contact Kim who I trained with for follow up advice. I have had no problems regardless of size x

No of course not. Infact I think if the over sized client have abit more confidence to come in, business would be booming. I had a thought you see well more of a daydream. That I would open a salon for curvaceous ladies to pamper there every need. I think body shape puts a lot off doing what slimmer girls would do which I think is a shame.

The salon I was at before. Was terrible for bitchy staff. All what considered themselves wanna be models. And looked down their noses At Anyone over a size 10. Which is one of the reasons I left. The salon I'm at now has one or two but I know that there would be probably a lot more who who love to come in and see what it's all about

I have a lot of larger ladies. A clientele that I have built up over years of making them feel a million dollars. My daughter and I work together and I am slim but she's skinny but one of the first things she learnt is that every body needs pampering and larger clients can be extremely loyal. I go out of my way to make all my clients feel special but I think the larger ladies often appreciate it more!

I see what you mean 😊 yes I agree with you totally, weight is such a touchy subject for a lot of women, being overweight and having an intimate service takes a lot of confidence

I have lots of more voluptuous ladies who love having their Hollywoods. I don't think weight comes into it really regarding confidence or sexiness, I find a lot of my slimmer clients are more self conscious than my larger girls.

If clients are made to feel comfortable and have an enjoyable experience they will stay loyal to you forever :wink2:

A client is a client to me regardless of size. I think that a salon for fat birds would put them off as they'd be a laughing stock. I'm a larger lady and I would not go near the place for fear of locals pointing and laughing and throwing creams buns at us. lol

I'm mobile (and a slightly larger lady myself) I think both of these factors help put my clients at ease and I now have a fair few regular larger ladies who have advanced to intimate waxing. I also have regular & skinny sized ladies - doesnt matter what size they are, they all get the same treatment & respect.

Jesus I'd not be able to go to one of these specialist waxing places cause I'd be stood outside mouth open awaiting those cream buns ;) : oink : : oink :

This is why I like to keep a bit of weight on, makes the clients feel at ease.... PMSL. Seriously though, I had a very large lady for bikini line, underarms and eyebrows the other week. She had to hold the top of her arms out of the way for me to do her underarms and also her stomach for me to do her bikini. She was in her 60's I would say and she said that she'd been going to another salon in the village where she lives but there were lots of very young girls working there and she of a bit intimidated. It was quite challenging but she said she felt comfortable with me because I'm a bit older and I felt really pleased that it wasn't an embarrassing ordeal for her.

I'm trying to think, I think I have a few that are maybe a size 16 or something? I find it's just as simple really.

I do worry that because I'm slim (size 10) and youngish (24) my clients might not want to come to me for things like this and I would hate to think this but I think it's the truth. But to be honest I hate my flabby arse and thighs aswell so were all the same, there's parts we don't like about ourselves and were not all perfect. So let's just bare all and put the body consciousness to one side and get our hollywoods. 😉

I saw a post come up on Facebook, a mutual friend who is a therapist had posted on her page slating a client who had come in for a bikini wax that day who in her words was 'massive' and that how disgusting it was that she had to do it and not to book her in again! I was horrified.

I have lots of voluptuous clients and I would say that they are in the majority for having waxing down there.

Mmmmm cream buns.......... what were we talking about?? ;)

I always try to make clients feel at ease no matter what their size. Infact, I often encourage the larger clients to try things they wouldnt normally do. It just helps to show them that everyone should be treated equally and they needn't feel embarrassed. They are in their own homes too and I do find that helps sometimes. I make sure all my treatments can be universal so everyone can enjoy them :) x

I used to be a really large girl and I've noticed that some of my clients have changed attitude towards me b/c I am not anymore.

I will tell my bigger girls that didn't know I was bigger before that I was. Most don't believe me until I show them a picture.

I think being larger is more comforting to the larger girls.

I think that we should weigh them all at the door! JOKE!

As an aside, my waxer is slim, drop dead gorgeous and in her very early 20's. The reason I have her as my waxer is because I trained her but mainly because I know that she's not going to think any less of my because of my body shape and I know that she won't discuss me with anyone else. How do I know this? Because I've never heard her say anything personal about any of her own clients.

I think someone needs to invent the 'weigh welcome mat' haha I'll be ok, I'll just roll on in like a hedgehog and uncurl to be waxed and roll on out.... No head patting tho cause a bouncing Vixx will be no good lol ;)

Its good that you have someone that you trust and is professional Kim - in the sense that she keeps clients confidential as it should be.

Mind you from the neck down us ladies are all the same really.. We all have bits, bobs and boobies :)

If a client says to me you must see all sorts of different lady gardens? I just say put it this way, I couldn't pick anyone out in a line up... Seems to make them feel at ease and I never discuss any clients with anyone.
