Hi people,

This is my 1st thread as im currently not trained in anything. I am already booked on a creative nail design course but am wanting to train in other things i.e. waxing, tinting, eyelash perming / extensions etc. First things first I would like to train in waxing and would appreciate if anybody could reccommend a company in my area (or somewhere not too far away). Also if anybody knows of any good trainers in any of the above I would greatly appreciate that also.

Many Thanks

It sounds like you want to cover most things that are in Beauty Therapy Level 2 (apart from nail services - they are level 3 at College). Maybe you would be better going to College for 12 months to do all these units and doing your nails with Creative at Leeds.

Doing individual training (fast track) courses in beauty can work out very expensive if you are planning on doing a lot of areas. Trust me I KNOW lol!!!

Hi ya,

I did my level 2 part-time over two years (so I could still work). It was one night practical and one night theory.

In the beginning it felt like it would take forever, and believe me the theory was a lot of work (because we are covering what the full time students were doing). But now Ive only got 3 weeks left till my final exam (well 2 if you dont count half term), handed in my profolio about a month ago and it now feel like the two years have flown by.

I dont know what the fast track courses are like, but I do know they are a lot more exspensive, so if you dont want to do a full time course maybe a two year course part-time would be worth considering.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replys. I completely understand what your saying but as I have just quit my job to make the time and get started asap I want to do the fast track courses. Not only that but I want to be trained by the best people in the industry eg. creative etc. I know this is ALOT more expensive but this is something I have already considered and saved for and fingers crossed the training will be a wise investment. As private training is so expensive I want to know im training with the best, the reason for being on here asking advice. I have already booked with creative, have enquired with hive about waxing (still open to other opinions on the waxing) and what to get started with others, I just need peoples advice and opinions on who to train with for other things.

Any advice is much appreciated

HI, I did all my qualifications part time as I had young children at the time. I contacted all the colleges in my area and basically found a course that fitted in with me. I was very fortunate at the time as I worked in a salon owned by therapists who also were teachers, one had her own private school, so some of my courses were done at college and they would re-train me, and the others were done at the school, but I remember my waxing course was just done over a few weeks on a saturday morning! not sure if colleges still do courses like this as mine was 10 yrs ago now, but worth a try.

Hi hon I did my waxing with salon systems, training solutions, cost about £111 and now lov waxing. Most of the wholesalers have training solution courses running so I would contact them.
