What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

Excuse my ignorance but is Thanksgiving similar to what we call Harvest Festival?

Lol I think it's more like a Xmas gathering than harvest perse, all I remember of harvest festival is that bread the local baker would make with fishes on it that would be brought to the school assembly, and singing in church freezing cold
