Hi,
I have recently been diagnosed as having Rosacea, after wrongly being diagnosed as having eczma and being given hydrocortozone cream 1%, then told it's a bacterial infection and given a topical antibiotic. When I was correctly diagnosed as having rosacea I was put on metrogel which seems to be helping although it definately makes my skin feel slightly sensitive after application. I went back to the doctors last week as I have a rash under my eyes which very closely resembles periorial dermatitis. I had stopped using the metrogel anywhere near my eyes as it was definately making it worse. ( I am using nothing on my skin at all except damp cotton wool to cleanse and metrogel on my face). The Doctor recommended using hydrocortozone 0.5% for under my eyes. I was a bit shocked as everything I have read about rosacea states that hydrocortozone can agrivate the skin more and can make the condition worse.
I'm just interested to hear what your take is on this.
I didn't bother to get the cream and am just continuing with nothing around my eyes.

i dont know much about treatment for the other conditions you have mentioned but my little boy has eczma on his face (and over areas of his body) and our doctor gave me hydrocortozone for when it flares up bad but we were told to avoid using it on the face unless absolutely necessary as it thins the skin, which is thinner on the face anyway in areas- particularly around the eye area.

Hello hunni i work for pharmacy company that manufacture this product, i use it on my body but have been told not to use it on my face as it will make your skin thinner. It is an excellent product but it is not a good idea to use it on a regualr basis.

Another ceam which is really good is dermacool.

Hope this helps. x

Thanks loads. The doctor wasn't greatly interested so I felt a bit fobbed off! xx
