I have a client who used to have Calgel. She didn't like it and said it was always breaking  but she really liked the colour she used to have - Candy something or other, a pink shade.

What she has suggested is just ringing alarm bells in my head. The person who used to do her Calgel (a friend of hers), has given up. My client is suggesting that she tries to obtain the pot of pink Calgel for me to apply as a single gel coat over the top of the natural coloured acrylics I do for her. The l&p suits her well and she has hardly any breakages but she wants this colour.

I have explained that I haven't trained with Calgel and therefore should not be using the product. Not even sure if it would work, used like this anyway. She is hell bent on finding this colour, even if it's over E-bay. If I decline I think I will lose her, and her friend (they come over together). But I don't like this set up.

Do Ezflow (whose products I use) do any coloured gels? I have tried the cover pink "Cover It" on her, over the l&p and she quite likes it but it is not bright enough. I know it is not supposed to be used like that but it is working ok at the minute.

What would you do?

EzFlow do coloured gels, they have 2 kits, one pinks and the other has got the dark colours in. Give Graftons a ring xx

Thanks, I didn't realise, they're not in the Ezflow brochure I have but then it is a bit out of date! That could solve the problem

Hi Blossom, i have just recently bought both of the EzFlow colour gel kits, they are called Angel and Devil. There are some beautiful pinks in the angel collection. The devil collection has beautiful colours too but am not sure how dark the calgel pink is that your client is looking for.

All of the calgel colours have matching nail polishes so you could try and get one of the polishes and just retail this to the client instead. They retail at around £6.99. There is a colour called pink candy but its quite pale (a white/pink almost french colour).

I've googled it and had a look (thanks fi) and the angel collection is lovely. So is the devil but I think they are darker. Think I will order some.

Am I alone in thinking it would be unprofessional, supposing she got hold of the Calgel colour, to use it how she wants me to? just doesn't feel right, knowing I'm not a Calgel tech . . .

i think your doing the rite thing by saying no hunnio

give Creative Bleu (your nearest Ezflow SD) a call on 0845 330 0840

the Angel collections colours are really pretty... you will def get a pretty pink for your client :)
they are paint on... so just refine your nails to a grey fox then apply like you would polish and remember to cure inbetween layers

No, they are what used to be the Creative Nail Academy in Salisbury. They now distribute EzFlow and Dream (as I understand it)
