What's going on with my gel polish?

I'm finally at the point where my acrylic nails are half decent but when I paint with gel they end up looking gloopy & messy even though cured! Maybe I'm using too much gel polish? I have been doing a base coat, 3 coats of colour, then one top coat. Photos in comments.

Hey Olivia,

No need for base coat when applying gel polish on acrylics, also 2 colour coats are enough, apply them very very thinly

Defo looks too thick,
Try thiner colour coats, and no need for base coat- imo your better having several thinner colour coats then 1-2 thick ones.
