To explain it very simply. When we lighten/bleach hair, it blasts all colour pigment out leaving little tiny holes in the hair. A pre pig is used to fill those holes before you apply your chosen colour. If you don't fill it first the colour will slip right out of those holes (hope that made sense lol) x
