I cannot decide which of the following sounds better-if not both. Let me know what you think:

a) Membership - Pay £50 which includes a spray tan and a pair of exfoliating gloves and pay only £15 per tan for life

b) Block Buy - Pay £70 for 5 tans (no timescale)

I charge £20 per tan normally or £15 if the next tan is within 7 days.

I realise that option b works out cheaper (£14 per tan but im thinking that some people dont always have a lump sum available that they are able to pay out all in one go.

Thanks

Hi

I don't do tans so I'll give you my opinion from a customers point of view. In my opinion £50 seems a lot to pay in the first place for the membership and I would be unlikely to want to pay that first to pay less for my future tans if you know what I mean, where as if I had spray tans regular then £70 seems reasonable ammount to pay in 1 go (its like driving lessons kind of way). If the customer does not have £70 to pay in one go they may think £50 is too much as well so there is that problem with both.

From buisness point of view if you say £15 on tans for life then you can't stop running the offer at any point where as with the block bookings you can stop that and only have to do the ones they have left.

It is up to you but I like the £70 one it sounds like you get more for your money and people like that

Hi,

How long have you been spray tanning? Are you salon based or mobile? If you've only just started and mobile you'll find it very difficult to find customers who will trust you enough to pay for any treatments in advance.

IMHO the best special offer is always the 'Recommend a Friend' type. Something like 'Recommend a Friend and get £5 off your next visit'

Hi there,
I would also be weary about having open ended dates etc. The first offer of having 15 pound spray tans for life. What happens in the future when prices go up?
Also with the other offer not having a time limit on is a mistake. Over time your prices and rent etc go up, people could have this for years (and they do). I would say a year or so is a good limit. Keep a record of who has them and remind them if they haven't used it up.
I know that buy so many get 1 free is popular in salons here in Australia.
Again if you are new at this people are often weary until they know that you are ok at tanning etc.
HTH :)
