:cry:Hey everyone, am totally new to this site, hope you can help. Have just started out again now my kids are a bit older (trained with Creative in l&p back in 2002). I want to do gels as well so hastily bought LCN gels & lamp (cos I was told by a few people it was the best lamp, regardless of which system I settled on) and decided to have a practice on myself before finding a conversion course. Now I can't find a conversion course that doesn't require me to buy their lamp! Please Help! xxx

have you been gel trained?

only reason i ask is that most conversion classes would require you to be gel trained in order to be able to convert to another systems gel

if you havent done gel training then i would recommend more of a progression type class (not full on begginers as you are already trained) where you actually get taught how to do gel nails rather than just this is how to use our system which is suitable for an existing gel user

this mite help with regards to your lamp http://www.salongeek.com/general-articles/35947-choosing-uv-lamp-your-gel-system.html

what wattage lamp is the lcn one? .... alot of the time its the uv output from the bulbs and not the wattage that the gel requires to get the sufficient cure

in some cases you may find your lamp will cure some products fine..... altho do bare in mind that you may not be covered by your insurance company if you do not use the lamp recommended for they brand you want to use

Thanks for that, I now realise I should have done more research before diving in and spending over 200 quid! Think I will have to go through LCN fot training now I have their equip and products. Just thought I was doing the right thing getting a head start and naively assumed the same lamp would work for all systems... you live and learn eh? :)

I can tell you that you can contact CND in Leeds 08452106060 and do a conversion with the CND Brisa Gels (fabuloso) and the lamp is on special offer too. Makes so much sense to use the same supplier of the same prodicts you are used to ... all the same prep products and routine you are used to and a saving on postage and a shop on your doorstep practically. Just an idea.

Hey, Is your lamp a 36 watt tunnel lamp? If so you can do a conversion with Entity gels if you wish. If you contact The Beauty Partnership they will give you the details of the nearest training to you.xx
