i'm not a hair geek but my trusty GHD straighteners are giving up on me
i have really thick wavey hair & was wondering if you could give me advice on which straightners to buy that don't cost as much as GHD's

Hello Lucyboo
I had exactly the same problem with my GHD's, they blew up on me which was quite scary and I hear they do that all the time!! Hmmm?
I have just bought a pair of brand new BaByliss PRO straighteners and they were only £50 and I can honestly say they are far better than the GHD's!! The design of the straightener is almost identical to the GHD's but they have 10 heat settings which GHD dont have and the plates are really smooth! I use them on my neice who has Afro Caribean hair and it gives the best results by far!!
I think you can get them online or at your local capital where I got mine from and Im waiting for the hot pink ones to arrive to give to my boss as Im sure she will love them too!
I hope this helps? maybe have a look at BaByliss Pro / Advanced Ceramic Styler (Pink)

I use SHE straighteners, they are the exact same as GHD's but half the price, look identical too! You can get them online or from hairdressers Laura x

I've heard the FHI straighteners are really good, a friend of mine uses them all the time and swears by them, I think she paid around £50 for them.

i have just bought a pair of the babyliss pro ones too from capital they were £45 (before vat) and they are brilliant just as good (if not better in my honest oppinion) as GHD's bargain !

My opinion is GHDs were top of their game when they came out, and now the other brands have caught up.

I stock and use SHE and they are brilliant. They are also half the price of GHDs. I haven't used any others apart from GHD and SHE so I can't comment on the rest.

My advice on SHE is get them from a stockist rather than on their website, as their RRP is lower then what they sell them for online. xx

Babyliss Pro 230 for me too. Have used loads of different straighteners and these are by far the best straighteners i've ever used. We have 3 sets at my house as we all love them :D
