Hi there am looking to learn about gel system nails. Have loved Shellac when have had them applied. In your opinion is this the best option or would you recommend another? Also where is best for training in Essex? Have got NVQ 2 manicure but not nail extensions training. Any advice greatly received!

Hi scandalash shellac isn't a gel it's a hybrid polish, totally different to gel, were you looking to do extensions? Xx

Hi princess Layla, thanks for replying. I'm a bit confused as I don't specialise in nails and there are so many options/names for all these different systems!!! I don't want to do any type of nail extensions just wanted to learn about longer lasting manicures as they are more popular now. Just unsure which system everyone would recommend and where to train if I have no nail extension qualification? Thanks so much in advance for any assistance x

So, Shellac is no longer referred to as a hybrid polish.

It is a power polish containing an advanced technology which allows the polish to be cured under uv light.

For those of you that saw a recent thread where this was 'revealed/confirmed' - lol

Lasts up to 14 days and stays beautiful and shiny.

Call Sweetsquared if you want to book onto the Shellac training course.

I don't think you will regret it.

So is Shellac the same as NSI Polich Pro, Jessica Gelearation, EZflow Trugel and Gelish, Gelac etc? What brand would be a true gel? Which do people prefer? Its dead hard to get head round all the different ones. Which wolkd be best for overlays on natural nails? Is Jessica Geleration a hybrid, or a true gel, and can you do extensions with it?

There is nothing else like Shellac on the market. It is a power polish. Not a gel. Not a thin gel.

Gelish, Gelac, Trugel and Geleration are gel polishes - thin gels.

For totally natural nails Shellac is the solution - no buffing onto the nail plate, easy on and easy remove.

Maybe geeks who use the brands you mention will come along and clarify what you can do with them.
