In my area all salons are offering gel polish/hybrids (irrespective of brand) at £20, even the local NSS using a really nasty brand and knock offs are that price.

It depends on your area. Check out prices where you live. Certainly where I am clients just want a 2-3 week lasting colour, they do not care what it is and I have never been asked for a particular brand.
