TPB, please don't take offence. If you look back at these posts, none of them were aimed at you. There's some really valuable information in this thread.
The rest of the comments that seem snide, bring up a problem that all of us have to deal with, and that is clients leaving for some tween doing £2 treatments up the road. Thankfully most of them are in good humour. But the seriousness is that each time that client leaves to try someone cheaper, we loose a visit, and will probably have a mess to clean up for them when they come back and the job isn't done properly, and because we're good hearted, will feel bad for them, see their embarrassment, and not charge them properly.
On another note, what are you doing that you've only had 30 clients in four months? You may be charging those clients correctly, which is great, but may benefit from looking to promote your business a bit more. Have a read of one of the threads previously posted, the one about promoting your business. There is some excellent stuff in there that won't cost you anything but a little time.
The other thing you can try, which I do, is give my clients 5 business cards with their name on them. They give them to their friends, and when I get all 5 back, I give the original client a free service.
I don't give loyalty discounts, like 10% of 5th service, because my business is still too small to benefit from that, and most of my clients are loyal and have followed me from my last salons.
So now the potential is that I do 5 services that I make say $100 of each one and after making that $500 I give away a $100 service that really only cost me $30 in product and a little time. Then I give them another 5 cards and they pay for their treatments in between until I get that next 5 cards out.
We're all in the same boat here, and we're all here to help each other xoxo
