    Broken sculpts

Hey everyone, I did a set of p&w sculpts on a lady last friday and got a phone call to the salon on Tuesday that four of her nails have broken off. She had very short nails to begin with, just long enough to get a form under but her thumbs were bitten to a very odd shape - bitten so one...

To belnd or not to blend that is the question?

....How do you cut the well out of the tip if you want to??? Not that I particularly do - I blend tips if and when I use them (prefer to sculpt) but just out of interest. Speaking of having to use tips...... I have my favourite cannibal coming in tomorrow and she has very deeply curved...

    late cancellations - arraghhh!!

I have to travel for 30mins to get into the salon that I do nails at. This morning I got there for my 10 O'clock appt only to find that the lady had left a message to say she couldn't make it. She phoned at 9.45!! I was pretty narked to say the least but it wasn't a wasted journey as I had...

    Roller waxing

Also - I forgot to mention that when doing large amounts of waxing it works out way cheaper than a traditional stip wax pot - no disposable spatulas, really thin application of wax and it's sooo much quicker with less mess!! (I would be lost without my roller system!) Looby:green:

    Roller waxing

Hi Tracy, Roller systems are very popular over here in Au and as it's warm all the time waxing is the biggest service we do. I have used a couple of systems - the Phd being one of them and to be honest I didn't like it. The flow of wax is not always consistent and I didn't rate the wax that...

    paraffin treatments

Hi Jeni, Yeah - before dipping - at college they kinda skimmed us through paraffin treatments but I remember having to apply some kind of lotion and then dipping. Just wondered if this was any particular kind??? Or if it helps the absorbtion of any product? Cheers! Looby:D

    Creative on E-bay!

Now all this jacks me off a little. I like Creative - hell I use their products - but I don't agree that you can't buy their L+P just because you haven't trained with them. (Note please that I do agree that you should have to prove that you are trained before you can buy professional products)...

    Acrylic And Shine

I use the "Lil' Whistler" 3 way buffer - it shines boootifully and is triangular so it's dead easy to hold and doesn't give you RSI! Looby:green:

    Sealing zone 3

A friend of mine just suggested sealing zone 3 to avoid lifting - ie: filing the cuticle and side areas down smooth onto the nail to create a 'seal'. Apparently they are all taught it over here in Oz. I was told to sculpt to a thin edge and then smooth with the file but never to seal - anyone...

    What grit?

When using Retention+ what grit file/block do you use for taking the shine of the natural nail? Also - do you go with the direction of nail growth (this is what I do) or am I supposed to go against? (I thought a no-no) I am getting conflicting information from tutors at college! Thanks guys...
