    Ultrasonic Lipo

Hello guys and girls, I'm looking to expand my ultrasonic liposuction business and am looking for therapists who either want to purchase the machines themselves to run in their own salon or those who want to rent the machines. Both options will provide support, but those who are looking to rent...

    iPad app for client records/appointments/reminders

Also, a question for Premier Ian... How do I go about importing and exporting data? I've my current clients on an Excel database and would ideally be able to import in to the salonlite. Also, if I want to send out a mailing list, can I export? Thank you!!!!

Olympia 2012 - is it worth waiting?

I'm going to disagree... and vote that you don't wait, but use this time to look for bargains online/VAT free days etc. If anyone could tell me where the bargains were at the last Olympia, do let me know!

    PTTLS and becoming a trainer..

It'd need to be accredited. Babtac has how to get your courses accredited on their website. I'm sure all of the other major beauty insurers would do too.

    iPad tablet alternatives

Everyone *seems* to be using iPads to run appointments etc and I'm leaning that way myself. However they are of course expensive, so i wanted to see if any of you use any alternative tablets with salon software, and your experiences. Thank you!

    Lavish?

Maybe if we all call tomorrow in force that they might get the idea?! Not sure legally where we stand as from what I can see, there is nothing in T&Cs. Can't hurt to call and complain!

    Lavish?

I've been with Lavish for a couple of months -had one lady use a large amount of vouchers for a few treatments and she travelled a fair way to use them with us. One little niggle... you give them 20% for their commission... and then you pay VAT on that commission. So for every £100 of vouchers...

    Beauty salon statistics

Does anyone know where to find statistics on salon usage - ie Which Towns spend more per capita in Beauty Salons. Average spend per client per year. I've googled, but can't find anything. Surely someone out there must have done this research! :)

Salon Owner with Self Employed Staff - Advice

I think it comes down to you communicating with the staff. Sometimes it is hard to be the boss and say these things as you feel you shouldn't have to and they should be obvious, but they clearly need what is expected with regards to phone/dress etc clarified. If I were you, I'd just bring it up...

    Improving retail/sales

Hello! In these first six months, we've been concentrating on marketing the business and getting new/repeat clients, but now I'd like to push the retail side. So far we've sold very little. We are now stocking Eve Taylor (alongside our MDA treatments). We've sold approx one per week. In the...

I'd ask to see (and take a copy) of her insurance certificate and also call your insurers. Good luck!

    Business name

I'm probably being a little bit old fashioned... but, I always prefer names to be spelt as they sound iykwim?! So, for instance, bodyz should be spelt bodies. My reasoning is that you are telling someone to go to your website or email you, and you are saying "that's bodyz with a 'z'" and it just...

Forms - how do you do it?!

Hello Geeks, There are obviously loads of threads on here about consultation forms... however, we've just started with Skinbase and I'm rather impressed by the consultation form they provide, and it's made me look at my current forms. I;m coming to the conclusion that the following would be the...

    Non surgical liposuction/fat zapping

We offer non-surgical liposuction and the results our clients get are as your friend describes. It is by far our most popular treatment. The technology is fairly simple - ultrasounds waves are passed through the skin and disrupt fat cells, which are then metabolised and passed out of the body...

How do you get people to like your Facebook page?

Aside from getting friends to like and share, really the best way is FB advertising. You can then really target potiental clients (age, location, gender etc). I do an advert every couple of months for two weeks or so (keeping a close eye on budget). It works and I always get new 'likes'. The...

    Recruiting Staff

Hiya, I'm sure everyone's experience is differnent when it comees to hiring, but I spent money on newspaper ads, some of the online beauty jobs sites etc, but wasn't really getting the employee with the skills I was after. In the end, it was word of mouth/recommendation. Good luck! x

Thinking about opening a second salon - come help me brainstorm

I have a salon in a gym and my first thought was that 1200 members isn't the number you need to focus on - it's really the active members. How many go regularly? What's the male to female ratio of the current member base? Are they happy with you bringing in outside clients into the gym? Will...
