I have been asked to help out at a charity day doing 15 or 20 minute manicures but Im unsure how much I can or should do in that time.

Manis are not my fav treatment so I dont do them if I can help it and am a bit out of practice so Im probably going to be quite slow at painting

feeling a bit worried but dont wanna let my friend down so any advice will be gratefully received

xx

why dont you just do a file and polish then? then you'll still have enough time to do a decent paint job and customers still go away feeling like theyve had a wee pamper!

I do 20 minute mini-mani's quite frequently at events as a marketing exercise....they work very well. I use CND products and have quoted by name, but you could use your brand if equivalent.

Coolblue / Antibac the hands.

Ask client to be choosing from a small selection of polishes....keep it to about 8 or 10 max or they will take forever!

While they are choosing, shape the nails to desired shape.

Apply Cuticle Eraser or similar to all 10 nails and push cuticles back with pushie. (Ensure you use a Cuticle Remover that can be removed by wiping with a sanitiser as opposed to one that needs water)

Cleanse nails.

I generally don't buff in a mini mani, unless the nails are in dire need of it. If I need to give a quick swipe with the buffer, I do it at this point.

Apply Scentsations hand lotion and massage lightly into hands, for a few moments.

Cleanse nails thoroughly with Scrubfresh.

Apply Stickey base coat to all 10 nails.

Apply 1 thin coat of colour to all nails.

Apply a second thin coat of colour to all nails.

Apply Speedy Top Coat.

Wait for a minute or two (good chance to pass over a business card and talk them through your current special offers) and then apply Solar oil all over nail surface to assist in drying and protect.

Don't offer french, and try to offer colours that you know you can get a good finish with. For example a Cream Red takes me longer than a Pink Pearlised colour.

And whilst I hate to say it, I don't offer the new Colour and Effects at this point in the 'time limited' mani's. I haven't got my head round factoring in the extra layer time-wise and I still have a massive polish collection from the old colours....so for speed-sake, I keep the choice simple. The first time I did these, I put about 50 polishes out on display and the clients took 20 mins to choose one! They'd have a field day with Colour and Effects! Sadly the only downside of the range....too much choice!!!

I would file, cuticle work and polish, but if you are worried about your speed then i would agree with just doing a file and polish.

I also would leave the french polish at home, time-wise it takes longer
