Hi geeks,
Not sure if this is going to sound daft, but anyway, did a set of gels the other day, & bascially you could see the natural smile line through the gel & tip. I only did a clear gel, if it was coloured im sure that would have been covered, but what about if a client only wants clear  There was the smile line from the tip, and a bit lower down was the natural one. Have i done something wrong here? x

Its sounds like you haven't blending the tip in enough and have got ghost shadowing,
have a look at your blending technique xx

Youve probably sat the tip too high on the nail and exposed the natural free edge!

If you are not going to custom blend i would recommend placing the tip exactly on the natural smile! Then even if using clear it won't show for a wee while.

I think it would also depend on the type of tips used too, and "their' colour.
I have "naturals" in different colours, depending on the brand.

I agree. Pink gelbond by CND is also fab for masking ghost shadow and is perfect for when using natural tips ,hth's x
