My dad has just been to visit and he suggested that I get into this as I'm very creative and imaginative (his words not mine:lol:)
Anyway basically after having a look at my nail site (it's not up and running yet) he reckons that I could do a website selling gift packaged gifts.

It all stems from some gifts I've done for family:

Mum's 50th - A decorated basket filled with 50 lollies and a sign that said "50 Sucks!"

Sisters 30th - A decorated bucket (beach one) filled with 30 sticks of rock and a sign that read "30 Rocks!"

Christmas - I did "Movie night in" boxes - basically filled with everything you need: glasses, bottle of wine/pop, a packet of microwave popcorn, choccie, miniture pringles, tealight holders and candles and dvd/shop voucher

Gift for friend when she had a baby - "Mummy survival kit" filled basket with bath soak, squidgie sponges, body lotions, body scrub, choccies, mug, satchets of hot choccie

My dad says there's people out there that would buy them, I'm not so sure. You have to tell people what's in them and do pictures to entice them to buy, with that information they could do it themselves.
Dad says yeah they might but there's always people out there that cant be bothered or think it looks better if a company has done it.

So I suppose what I'm asking is (alongside nails of course) would you purchase something like this?
Do you think it could work?
And... basically general opinions.

Thanks guys

That sounds brilliant! You sound very creative and cleaver!
I think its a good idea i think that would really sell well! I would deffiatly buy if i come across something like that.xx

Yep there is defo a market for things like this, I know I buy them!! lol!!
If this is something you are gonna do, you need to have a look at some sites that do similar things, some of them are total dross and some are amazing!
The Mummy survival kit is something like what I got for a few friends who had just given birth, they had things like you put in plus stretch mark cream, bath bombs, mini bottle of champers etc.

Its a great idea Ria, just believe in yourself a bit more and go for it hun!

xxxxxx:hug:

I agree it's a great idea .a yummy mummy kit would be fab too with maybe a pamper voucher and some make up :?:

Good luck !

Love the Yummy Mummy idea Becki, I do think that sort of thing is becoming more appealing, everyone knows how much babies are given when they arrive, but the Mums who do all the hard graft rarely have anything!

Graduation gifts, new job/house, milestone birthdays, new baby, divorce gifts could be novel!?!

wow! I'd defo buy some.
Why not include a voucher for nails by you in some of them??
Fab idea
xx:hug:xx

i think this sounds like a fab idea good luck!!

Love the idea!

Voucher for Nails would be excellent too!

That's very enterprising Ria ... what a fab idea!

Aww thanks guys.
I know this sounds daft but I'm close to tears here, I had to pop out to eldests swimming lessons so this is the first chance I had to read the replies and I thought I'd scroll down and you'd all say "grow up, it's a stupid idea"

I'm going to do a bit more investigation, I love the yummy mummy's kit and the idea of divorce presents.

Thank you guys for boosting me confidence.

P.S. Any ideas for a business name, all I can think of is "Got it wrapped"

it really is a fab idea.
Be carefull about giving away too much now if your seriously going to follow this through.........someone WILL steal yur ideas.
'Got it wrapped'..... sounds like you 'Got it covered' lol
xx:hug:xx

How abouted "gifted"

Its a lovely idea. How about trying it out at local school or church fetes to start with. You could have a few made up and take orders. Also advertise your other business as well. It might be worth a try. So many people cant be bothered to use their own imaginations. Also you could let your current clients know what you are doing. Or how about direct selling at peoples homes, like Virgin V or Body Shop parties.

A friend of mine did parties selling picture frames, vases, bowles, candles, etc. on her own and made a mint.

Sounds lovely but be careful with the weight of some of the items with postage costs.
It's certainly not a stupid idea:hug:
Just think how many of us have flowers etc delivered from Next and other places because we simply don't have the time to do things ourselves.

I have a good friend who is a courrier :wink2: and it tends to be priced similar to royal mail, yet more reliable

Thanks guys for your support and links and fantastic ideas.
Becki I will have to look into couriers as that would be better then queing in the postoffice, especially at christmas!

I got a basket of toiletries for my 40th and they included Steradent, ******l dryness cream, hairnet and curlers, corn plasters, Tena pads, advert for hearing aid etc etc. It was a huge hit and all my friends loved it. It's still the only present I really remember !!!!!! (It should've included memory pills):green:
Great idea - and people always love something a bit different............

Thats a really good idea. I love the 50 sucks thing with the lollypop's not that I would ever know what to do with 50 lollies lol.

Have u any pics of the finished product? I am interested to see what they look like xx
