Just read a spa is offering a breathe easy massage for people bunged up and chesty after a cold.Basically a massage focusing on back, chest facial sinus drainage using tea tree ,pine and eucalyptus and under your massage table head hole you can put a bowl of steaming water for them to breathe containing the same essential oils.

sounds nice but personally i am always grateful when my ill clients postpone their treatments until they are fully recovered, otherwise i run the risk of catching their cold!!

Me too, but this is particularlyfor after the cold. People can have congestion and feel run down for many weeks after colds and flu but they won't be contagious.
Everyones always looking for different ideas, twists and names to promote their treatments it sounds like a good one to me.

I could so do with one of those today, I've got a cold and am really congested...... It sounds lovely...... sigh!!!

Was it by any chance an Aromatherapy Associate treatment?

I used to work in a holistic clinic where we offered the Aromatherapy Associate "Breathe Easy" aromatherapy treatment. It began with a steam treatment, where the client sat with a bowl of hot water containing inhalation oils on their lap, although I often put it under the face hole during the back massage for safety reasons! For the back massage we applied a soothing muscle ache gel & then performed the massaged with an oil containing eucalyptus, peppermint & tea tree.

After this was a scalp massage where we put a few drops of 100% essential oil mix (eucalyptus, tea tree & pine) in our palms, held over the face for a few moments (as an inhalation) before using to dry massage the scalp & for a pressure point massage of the face/forehead/sinuses. Then we used the muscle gel for a chest, neck & shoulder massage, and sent them home with a drop of the inhalation oil on a tissue. It was a fantastic treatment & thinking about it I ought to offer it at the moment!!

I don't know Martin but its in the Daily Mail as their treatment of the week and they do it in the Dorchester hotel spa in London and it is very, very expensive:)

I've had a look at their other treatments & I'm 99% certain it is Aromatherapy Associates as they also do the Jet Lag treatment, the Rose Cocoon & a lot of their massage treatments (De-Stress, Aromatherapy Experience etc). Also, I've just dug out my old training manual & the wording is identical to that in my Aromatherapy Associate training manual. Their body treatments & products are to die for!!
