You must see the nails to see if it was you or her that made them lift.....you cant give a refund unless you have seen them....

Has this happened to you before ???.....is she a nail biter??????....where does she work????...sorry for all the questions !!

After 6 days I wouldn`t give a refund, if you`ve done your prep properly and not touched the sides with product I would ask the client to come back to the salon while you rebalance the nails. It could be down to some medication the client is taking.
How many are lifting and how much? you need to see the nails first before you decide on anything
:)

no its not happened before, but i have only been doing nails for 6 months, i took an hour and a half to do them and they were perfect when she left the salon, she rang me on the day she was going on holiday to tell me that she wanted a refund when she returned as they had lifted and now look shabby!!

i feel reluctant to give her a full refund because of the time it took.

If you want a refund for ANY item you cant just phone up the shop and say i want a refund, the thing is broke/not working.....you HAVE to take it back.....this is what she must do.....have you asked her to come in ?

yes i asked her to come in and i would rebalance them but she said i am going on holiday today, i am having to soak them off they are that bad!!

Certainly you have to see them before you decide anything . . . but I must just ask you, do you have lots of other clients who are absolutely fine with no lifting? In which case it most probably is nothing to do with your application.

Sounds like "I'd like a bit more spending money for my hols please"

P... taking.

No way should you giver her a refund just offer to repair them free of charge this time.:)

I would say " i need to see the nails before i even consider a refund.....this has not happened to you before"....does not matter that you have been doing it 6 months......people have been doing it years and sometimes have a few problems.....if you know your prep is spot on...and you done everything else correct then they would not have lifted....

Strange that she calls and says they are lifting then has to go on hols....she cant even pop in for 5 mins to show you.

She presumably went on holiday for at least a week or two on top of the 6 days after you had done them then.

There is no way I would refund on this basis - as has been said you have to take things back to the shop. That is like ringing a shop to say the food you sold me isn't fresh I'll bring it back in a fortnight

Yes i do have problems with lifting thats why i thought i would refund her, but i am adamant that i did my prep properly

I think i am going to start using gel as it seems a lot easier than acrylic, dop you find this?

maybe you need to find out why your nails are lifting if your prep is ok, are you not going to near the sidewalls and cuticle?

Do you have probs with acrylic application then hunny? Gel isn't easier, it's different - and in my experience it won't suit everyone.

you mean to close to the side walls with the acrylic?

Yes if you have acrylic touching these areas it will cause lifting
xxxx

Also you must make sure that the area is absolutely flush with the natural nail around cuticle and sidewalls . . . ie you shouldn't be able to feel a "ridge" at all. If you leave the product too thick around these areas it will cause lifting.

Have you thought about doing a "trouble shooting" one-to-one training session? I ironed out quite a few issues at one of these and it led to much improved nails.

yeah imo if you have lifting with L&P trying it with gel won't solve the problem...

as for the topic itself, I wouldn't refund either. she has to show you or she can decide to leave anyway, but you'll keep the money.
