Hi there,

I have been asked to go to my friends garden party next week and as being a new member of the neighbour hood have also been asked to do any of the girls nails as my friend thought it would help me get to know more people and set up a client base.

I am a little unsure though about doing the nails outdoors, and am in two minds........ any help/thoughts?? :irked:

Cheers

It depends what services you are offering.

Not a good idea if doing enhancements. You could have all sorts of problems.

Iv done this before. I done my neighbours nails in the garden (using l&p) cos we thought it was to nice to sit inside.. was a bad idea!! her nails never lift and she keeps them on for months but this was a new set and they started lifting after a few days and the only different thing i done was sitting outside in the sun. probably not worth your while cos i ended up soaking them off and re doing them x

I did a set of acrylics outside once on a summery day - the nails set so quickly that it really hurt! The warmth and sunlight really impacted the setting, but I do have to add that those nails lasted better than any set I've ever done. Except for the pain from the sudden shrinkage!

Plus, if it's windy, your powder will go flying, and you may end up with dust in your liquid.

Why don't you offer mini manicures instead? They would take 20 minutes, rather than 90 min+. I've done these for fund raisers (for schools, etc) and they've been great. Plus, while the person is having their hands done, you can talk to them about the other services you do. They may make another booking with you for a longer appointment right then.

Good luck!
