Hi,

This is the first time I've posted on here so hello to everyone. I currently do acrylic nails, I do like the acrylic however I've heard that you shouldn't use acrylic on toes, does anyone know if this is true? As that was what I thought I bought a sample gel kit however am a bit stuck on how to use it. Do you think that you need to do the full gel course just to learn how to do the toes or could you 'self learn'? Hope this makes sense & sorry for sounding thick.....

Thx Nic x:lol:

Hiya and welcome to the site....

Gel is acrylic too....what you refer to acrylic as, is L&P....so the answer to your question is YES acrylic can go on toe nails....but so can L&P.

As long as the overlays are not too thick and the nail kept short there is no danger.

Hi there,
I'm NSI trained in acrylic and also want to learn gel. I've been advised by NSI that I don't need to do the usual full introductory course, but can do a one dayer instead which is a lot cheaper and more convenient. I'm sure this is the same for Creative and I'll eventually do a conversion with them.

Hi Angie,

Thanks for the reply, what does L&P stand for? I only qualified in November so am fairly new to it all. I use is the NSI attraction can you use this on toes then? I got a balance uv gel trial set for toes do I not need this should I just use the acrylic? Sorry for all the questions.

Thx x:lol:

Liquid and Powder..

Give the gel a try hun...I have never done L&P on toes. Could you ring NSI and see if they can send you some details on gel application....?

Just been on the NSI website, they do a hollywood toes course which uses gel rather than L&P (getting there eh LOL). Think I'll give the L&P a go and just see what it turns out like.

Was just looking at the piccies that are on your signature, do you use gel? I really like the glitter.

Yeah I use gel. Give it a go with your L&P and see how you get on.

hi there i did l&p on my toes and boy did it last!!!! And i used NSI i didn't have any problems I got bored with the colour cause it was on so long hee hee. I know this sounds weird but Tammy taylor does l&P on toes and there is a video on her website if that helps.

They look really good, did you use forms or just dab the white on your nail (if that make sense).

What is the tammy taylor website, do you have it?

Thx

No forms or tips just a natural overlay with pink and white l&p.

If you google tammy taylor it should come up.

Ive seen her video on giving a severe nail biter a free edge without using tips ( which would probably pop off anyway) or forms. From what i can remember she applied some oil onto the skin area so the l&p does not adhere to the skin then applied the l&p overlapping the nail to create a nail with free edge but kept them quite short. I sure you can use this method on the toes too. hth

Liquid & Powder Acrylic is as you have rightly pointed out is not recommended for toes …

Gel Toes are becoming extremely popular and many technicians are now starting to offer this lucrative service. Although a full Gel course is not necessary for doing Gels on toes, I would however advise you to undertake a course that is relevant to this specific service.

We at Nail Creation are just one of many companies that now offer Gel Toes Training. If you would like more details regarding this course and the kit that is included with the training then please feel free to contact me.

Regards

Maria
