I have a problem with my adhesive! Every time I go to open the bottle, it has glued itself stuck and I spend ages with scissors trying to cut the adhesive away so I can open the bottle! I haven't been wiping my brush round the top of the bottle and don't know how to stop this! It isn't the most professional thing in the world when you have a client with you! Any tips would be appreciated!

Do you 'burp' the bottle after useing it?

we would do it this way:

once you finished, you let it settle on the table, while you put some oil on a lint free thingy, that you use to "clean" the top of the bottle and where it touches the brush.

No, what is that?

After each time you use your adhesive...gently squeeze the bottle (in its upright position). When you squeeze... the adhesive will obviously move up the nozzle to the opening...(so dont squeeze too quick or hard)...but as you let go....all the adhesive in the nozzle/neck will draw itself down back inside...so the nozzle/neck will then be clear of adhesive and shouldnt get clogged up.

Hope ive explained that ok.

CND Gelbond is great for this reason, the lid is made of a plastic designed to repel the glue (I think I've got this bit right) so it doesn't ever glue itself closed.

You have explained it perfectly....for a tube or bottle with a nozzle this is exactly what I would do.

But with a brush on resin there is no nozzle, and that is what is being used here....I would do exactly as Doorie has said.

As for Gelbond, fabulous product that it is, I have seen many, many lids stuck to the nozzle Bracky:eek: You are just using it perfectly, and cleanly and that is why you have never had a problem.:)

I am not sure if it is correct to do but it works for me... I put a thin film of vaseline aroudn the thread of the glue( if it is a screw cap) and make sure not to wipe on the edge of the bottle.. so when i closes it can;t get stuck together..
I am sure that if this is wrong a geek will let us both know...lol
