Hello all,
I have done a set of sculpts (only my 4th full set of sculpts), one of the tips have broken off after it catching on the corner of the tip between the white and the pink, I think this must have been a weak spot. (I'm definately learning lots with each set I do!!)
I am doing the repair later, now that the whole tip is off, would I just replace the tip if the pink is still ok or should I soak the pink off and sculpt a whole new nail?
Thank you all in advance for your help x

Hi Snoopy & welcome to the site btw.

I sounds to me as though you have broken the nail off at the stress area. That tells me that you need to ensure you create a structured nail by applying a bit more acrylic at the area where zones 1& 2 meet to build an apex & strength.

As for repairing, assuming there is no lifting to zones 2 & 3, I would prep if needed, buff over the remaining enhancement & file down the free edge of remaining acrylic & reapply your white in zone 1 (using a form or course) and then apply your pink back into zones 2 & 3 were needed, remembering to build a better stress area. So treat it as a rebalance if you like. No need to soak off.
If there's lifting in zone 2/3 because of the trauma of the break then I would just soak & start again.

Hth's.
