Hi All,

I am about to part with my well earned money and gain some new skills. I have always wanted to do nails, because I am good at them. My mum was a beautician and I used to do her nails as she couldn't do them on herself.

Anyways, I was thinking about doing a 4 day coarse which in the end qualifys you as a Nail Tech, you can gain insurance. This course covers Extentions, Manicures, Pedicures etc and home study and assessment days at a later stage. This is not an NVQ however, cheaper version  so this course is option 1.

Option 2 would be to learn how to do extentions only, waxing and spray tanning. same price as about for all three. Which do you think would be best? baring in mind future employment as i do not currently work in a salon.

Thanks for your help.
Lisa :)

Hi, I suppose it depends on whether you just want to do nails or branch out into beauty more and do the waxing and tanning. Personally, I wouldnt do such a short course, I done my nvq2 nails at college last year and doing nvq3 this year and theres so much to learn, I couldnt do it in 4 days, the 38 week course is much better for me!! x

:)i think id go for option two!!

I have done l&p with creative now looking into a year course to do the tanning,waxing,eyelashes,ect.... this gives you the oportunity to potentailly earn more as a mobile beautition..

alot of women i know would defiantely spend the extra to have nails, tan and eye lashes all done at once... so i think thats a better route...

once u get your self established and earning then book your self on to day courses for more knowledge on nails! art ect!!

option 2 seems better but you may be better to have manicure training as well as clients may take nail enhancements off and want them manicured afterwards! worth bearing in mind
hth
