Hi

I have used Akzentz soak off for the first time and my new client has lost the majority of her nails in a day and I am at a loss to why this has happened.

I usually use Calgel and wanted to try Akzentz soak off so that I can offer a harder wearing alternative for NNO's. I prep'd the nails normally, used sure bond, applied sculpuring white and cured (using my calgel lamp) then base and gloss and cured.

In the meantime I will give my client a full set of Calgel NNO's which will enable me to assess if it is the client, as none of my other Calgel clients have had these problems.

Please can anyone help or offer advice as I would like to offer these as a alternative?

Hi there!

Can you tell me what exactly were you doing? Were you extending the nails with Sculpturing White? Was it a natural nail overlay?
You just did 1 coat of Base N Gloss?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. It was a natural nail overlay but I used sculpturing white as I haven't purchased the pow yet. I did do two coats of base n gloss.

Hmm... this is what I would do:
1) Sure Bond (dehydrator)
2) 1 coat of Base N Gloss - cure 90 sec min (the first coat I would rub in for better adhesion and then added little more for proper coverage)
3) thin layer of Sculpturing White or Brite White - cure 90 sec min
4) another coat of Base N Gloss (this coat would be the thickness of top coat) and cure 90 sec.

Ideally I would use Options Clear for an overlay. Base N Gloss, although similar is more designed to be used for colors (B&G, color, color, B&G)

So French overlay without color would be: Options Clear, white, Options Clear.

How did the product peel off? At the cuticle or fron the free edge?

akentze also has a product call opti-bond for use only with the options line. it is for ensuring that you get great bonding of the options to the natural nail.
I had liffting also but this product seems to really help

One thing to remember about OptiBond is that it makes the product little more difficult to soak off.
If you have lifting at the free edge (separation) use tiny, tiny bit of OptiBond only at the free edge (just moisten the nail with it), cure, then proceed with B&G and so on.

Hi Both

Thanks for your responses. Not sure where the lifting had occurred as the client wasn't too specific. I will try both your suggestions on myself initially and see how I get on and to make sure all is ok before clients.

I'll let you know how it goes

Thanks both
