APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR TIP OVERLAY

Preparation

Start with clean dry nails. Push back the cuticles. With a clean fine file, remove all surface shine on the natural nails. File the free edge to a round shape. Spray the entire nail and surrounding skin with Nail Prep (nail antiseptic). Select the appropriate size tip to fit. Glue onto the natural nail. Cut and file tips to the desired length and shape. Using Blend In, blend the tip into the natural nail

1. Apply Sure Bond or Affixit to the natural nail & let dry. *Sure Bond may touch the cuticle.

2. Using a gel brush, apply a thin layer of Bonding Gel (when applying Trilite Gel, you can use either Trilite or Bonding) onto the nail and tip. Apply just enough to wet the nail, not to run into the cuticle. Do not wipe off the dispersion film (sticky residue) left on the nail after curing.

3. French Look Method A - Optional Step: Apply your choice of French, Builder or Ultra White Gel. Form a smile line and glide the product down to the end of the tip. Cure for 2 minutes. Do not wipe off the dispersion film. To hold a perfect smile line, you can freeze cure each nail for 5 seconds.

4. Apply a building gel (choice of either Builder, Modeling, Natural or Trilite Gel) by gliding the gel over the stress area of the nail. Push gel back to the cuticle area and then lightly glide gel over the entire nail extension, pulling harder over the tip. Cure for 2 minutes under UV light. *Building gels may be applied in two thin coats or one thicker coat. Cure each coat for 2 minutes. Using Gel Cleaner, wipe off dispersion film (sticky residue) left on the nail.

Natural & Trilite Gels self-level, so file only if required, apply Nail & Cuticle Oil & massage or buff in. Have the client wash their hands. If filing is required, proceed then with steps 5-9.

5. File and buff nails to shape. Remove Dust.

6. French Look Method B - Optional Step : To create a French White look, apply a very thin coat of Paint On White over the free-edge. Dip gel brush into the Paint On White until a small amount of gel forms on one side of the brush. Starting at the smile line, hold the brush flat to the nail & stroke forward to the free-edge. Apply in 3 thin strokes (as you would nail polish). To perfect your smile line, wipe gel brush with Gel Cleaner and then swipe the smile line to perfect the look. Cure for 2 minutes. Do not remove dispersion film (sticky residue)

7. Apply a med/thin coat of Top Gloss Gel (clear, pink or opalescent pink) to the entire nail making sure, not to pull too hard (Natural or Trilite can be used in place of Top Gloss Gel). When Top Gloss is applied too thinly, or pulled too hard, dull spots may be left on the nail after curing. Top Gloss can be applied using two thin coats or one thicker coat. Cure the first coat for 1 minute and then cure the second coat for 2 minutes (for one coat application, cure for 2 minutes). Using Gel Cleaner, wipe dispersion film (sticky residue) from the nail.

8. Apply Nail & Cuticle Oil & massage or buff in.

9. Have the client wash their hands (optional).

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCULPTURED GEL NAILS

Preparation

Start with clean dry nails. Push back the cuticles. With a clean fine file, remove all surface shine on the natural nails. Shape the free edge to desired length. Remove dust. Spray nail with Nail Prep (nail antiseptic). Fit a Nail Form under the free edge of the natural nail, ensuring the form fits with the curvature of the natural nail.

1. Apply Sure Bond or Affixit to the natural nail & let dry. *Sure Bond may touch the cuticle.

2. Using a gel brush, apply a thin layer of Bonding Gel (when applying Trilite Gel, you can use either Trilite or Bonding) on the nail and tip. Apply just enough to wet the nails, not to run into the cuticle. Do not wipe off the dispersion film (sticky residue) left on the nail after curing

3. Apply your choice of French White, Builder or Ultra White Gel (When using Ultra White Gel make sure to apply thinly). To sculpt a nail extension, start at the free-edge, form a smile line and then extend the gel to the desired length. Cure for 2 minutes. Do not remove dispersion film (sticky residue) left on the nail after curing. *To hold a perfect smile line, you can freeze cure each nail for 5 seconds.

4. Apply a building gel (choice of either Builder, Modeling, Natural or Trilite Gel), by gliding the gel over the stress area of the nail. Push the gel back to the cuticle area and then lightly glide the gel over the nail extension, pulling harder over the tip. Cure for 2 minutes under UV light. Remove nail forms. Do not wipe off the dispersion film (sticky residue) left on the nail after curing.

5. Apply a second coat of building gel, making sure the stress area is reinforced. Cure for 2 minutes. Using Gel Cleaner, wipe off dispersion film (sticky residue) on the nail.

6. File and buff nails to shape. Remove Dust.

7. Apply a med/thin coat of Top Gloss Gel (clear, pink or opalescent pink) to the entire nail making sure, not to pull too hard (Natural or Trilite can be used in place of Top Gloss Gel). When Top Gloss is applied too thinly or pulled too hard, dull spots may be left on the nail after curing. Top Gloss may be applied using two thin coats or one thicker coat. Cure the first coat for 1 minute and then cure the second coat for 2 minutes (for one coat application, cure for 2 minutes). Using Gel Cleaner, wipe off dispersion film (sticky residue) on the nail.

8. Apply Nail & Cuticle Oil & massage or buff in.

Hi do you mean this thread?

http://www.thenailgeek.com/main/28574-re-gel-tutorial.html

I've had a look through and there werent anything particularly relating to Akzentz tutorials. As the title of your thread didnt have 'Akzentz' in it, I guess geeks didnt realise it was about Akzentz gels.

Hi, do you mean this thread?

http://www.thenailgeek.com/main/28574-re-gel-tutorial.html

I've had a look through and there werent anything particularly relating to Akzentz tutorials. However, using the link, there is some information from a message board about the Akzentz gels.

Your thread title didnt say it was about Akzentz gels, so maybe thats why we didnt pick it up when you posted.

Hey guys

Yeh, they are both one in the same...ones a link to a thread with the address to the site, and one a link to the site itself.

Ariaaland, the link takes us to another site hun, which seems to be posted by an Akzentz distributor. The thing is I (and most other geeks on here!) love any nails info we can get our hands on that gives us hints and tips, but this just doesn't seem easy to get any info out of other than discounts on Akzentz. Unfortunately, thats the downside of MSN groups - they come with a ton of adverts and strange links so you never know where you are going! Some of it also seems to be for 'members only' and if people have to sign up to another group they will fairly quickly lose interest, when the info they want then gets posted on here actually in a thread! Lana is also a bit well known for her fab 'Akzentz' advice, so please don't feel ignored...it's just her posts ALWAYS come with pretty amazing info!

I'd love to see any info here and will always be grateful for it, but I think maybe it needs to be posted direct rather than following several links.

I think its fab that you know where to go to get this info and want to share it with us, but I just got a bit lost along the way and guess others did too!

I should imagine, therefore, if you can do a simple cut and paste of the tutorial..you're probably gonna get tons of thanks for it! Also it just takes a bit of time here for people to get to know what your 'specialist' area is. so the clearer you can make it in the title, the better!

Listen to me, harping on and I've only been here a few weeks myself! But I guess I'm like most folks and like an easy life! Anyway, hun, I guess the point, if you think this info is worth going on here, you're probably right, but can you extract it and 'put it into a thread'??

Hope this make sense...
