I usually usually remove cuticle from my nail with my pro pusher following the EzFlow prep routine but no matter who does it, me very gently or a tech, it is uncomfortable. I litterally feel like I am chewing metal, I cant bear it. My nails have always been very soft and I can see where the scraper has been used on them afterwards. I tried prepping with cuticle remover instead which was much better for me but I had lifting I dont usually get and I remember another topic about the same thing.

What alternate ways can I prep then that would suit the system I use? I have to say even just using cuticle remover and an orange stick tipped with cotton wool still makes my teeth hurt!

If you're using cuticle remover by Creative (for instance) you have to make sure all traces of it are removed from the nails before applying your overlay.

Creative's cuticle remover is fantastic at removing non-living tissue, you don't have to use much pressure from your tools when you use it, leave it on the nails for a minute or two before using your tools, removal is of the utmost importance though, I use a Citrusoak solution and lint free pads to remove it.

hth's a bit

If you didn't get all the traces of cuticle remover off before applying your nails this will cause lifting. I must admit we use cuticle remover (CND) for prepping for all artificial services, but they either are escorted to the sink to wash or a spray bottle and brush are used to make sure all traces have been removed.

If the student has chosen to use EZ Flow, after drying and using the towel to make sure and clean/dry the lateral folds, they dehydrate with EZ Bond wait and repeat. This seems to eliminate the lifting.

Do not use Scubfresh in place of EZ Bond, Scrubfresh contains ingredients that leave a coating behind to help eliminate and prevent bacterial growth- it is specifically designed for Creative Nail Design.

EZ Bond should be followed with EZ Prime (use sparingly and apply only to natural nail) Hopefully this will solve the discomfort of pushing back your cuticle AND keep lift out of your life!! ;)

Thanks for that Sandi and Jeni. I had never had my nails done with the EzFlow system until I did my training so the prep method was all new to me and my pet dread once it has been done to me. I did think maybe as we were training on each other that it was just because we were all new to it but even with trained techs doing it for me its the same. Jeni, when I did mine I did wash thoroughly and use EZbond and EZprime but obviously not thoroughly enough then. I'll have a go when I get back from holiday and be more meticulous.

Thanks :)

xx
