hello all, i have just been on a waxing course wich i really enjoyed but am now unsure about exactly what i will need to take with me.
I have the hive warm wax starter kit so any advice about how to keep this safe while traveling will also be appreciated.
How long will it take for my wax to heat up will it be ready for the time im set up?
I have been so excited these past few weeks and now i feel very very nervous so any advice will be much apprecited x

I will also be spray tanning so any unexpected items i will need to take with me aghhh so many questions

I am mobile and I do waxing. I take my beauty couch and shower curtain (from a pound shop) to cover the client's carpet. I always warm the wax pot up a bit at home and put the lid on it. It takes less time to warm it up again. During this time I prepare everything and do the consultation.

Hi I'm mobile, put all your stuff, pot spatulars, strips pre wax , oil and after wax. Tweezers in a stacking box. Put this in the footwell of the front pasenger seat so it can't go anywhere. If you keep you wax pot between half and three quarters full, plug it in when you get to you client it will have melted round the sides and your be able to start once you have set up and prepped your client. Also carry in a bag towels couch roll and an extension lead. Don't forget your couch and your away. Spray tanning. Tent, bag with machine solutions, moisturiser for dry patches, shower hats paper knickers, skin prep spray incase they havn't taken off make up and deoderant, two towels one to place your machine on and one for the bottom of the tent. Hair toggles. Extension lead. Think that it:) good luck . Xx

Im mobile & home based and do loads of waxing. I've a large wax pot, the sort you pour the wax into from the container, not the one you sit the plastic pot into. I make sure I only fill the heater up 3/4 as I filled it once and had a spillage!

Because I perform most treatments mobile I've seperate boxes full of equipement, so I can just grab and run knowing that I've left nothing behind.

I take; couch, toweling cover + paper roll, wax pot, pre & post wax cleanser, talc, cool down cream, hand sanitizer, a bag with tweezers, strips, spatulars & cotton discs. A towel to cover clients table where I set up pot etc - I think thats it!! Sounds a lot but its so easy as I always keep these things together.

I go with a cold pot - too many step hills where I live, ie why I had spillage LOL. The first thing I do is plug the heater in, I find mine heats up really quickly and by the time Im set up a little bit round the edge is ready to use (just be careful as it can be quite hot). Most of my clients have ebs as well as other waxing so I start with that as you only need a tiny bit of runny wax to do it.

HTH and makes sense!

Finding out how long your wax pot takes to heat up is easy - plug it in at home before doing any clients and see how long it takes (and to make sure its working properly too, I've bought several faulty appliances which I needed to return before using properly). You also should have any electrical appliances PAT tested to ensure they are safe to use - imagine the consequences if something went wrong and you were sued.

Also keep in mind that it takes longer for the wax to be ready when you're using a brand new pot (for me anyway) as theres loads of wax. I really hate using a new pot after using one thats been low on wax, it seems to take so much longer to heat up properly.

I do use a wax pot where I can just insert the whole tub of wax into the heater, and I keep the lid for it as this way I can heat the wax up before I leave for the appointment and can screw the lid on before putting it in my car - no spills! Having the wax heated beforehand isnt really much of an issue if you have other treatments to carry out before hand, but if you are only doing a waxing session then it means waiting however long it takes until its ready. I like to cut the time down as much as possible.

Don't forget disposable gloves - some clients might not feel comfortable especially with bikini waxing and around the tops of the legs without gloves being used. And scissors! To cut strips for eyebrow waxing. I always seem to run out really quickly nomatter how many I cut up. And a plastic bag to put all your rubbish in. Some equipment cleaner might be a good idea as well just incase wax ends up somewhere it shouldn't lol.
