Hi guys
I've been practising my acrylic sculpting after starting an NSI course last week and have to do 10 sets by next Monday (eek!)
I've just completed my 4th set and I'm taking about 3hrs to do them. Alot of my time is taken buffing the nails to a smooth finish. I'm noticing that my main problem is applying the acrylic too thick ariund the edge of the nail plate, so I'm finding it hard to buff down that area as I'm so conscious of rubbing onto the skin.
If I try and reduce the amount of acrylic I'm appyling then I find I dont have enough to reach the other side of the nail plate.
  • How long should I be taking to buff the nails to a smooth finish?
Please help, any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!!!

You need to learn to angle your brush when you press and smooth the product so that your edges are not thick. If you run out of product just add a bit more in another small bead .. nothing wrong in that.

May I suggest that a copy of 'nailclass' by gigi rouse would be a good buy as it is all about the techniques of application. Like having a teacher at your side. You can purchase from Sweet Squared 08452106060 or Welcome - Sweet Squared
It is worth to you and your development allot more than it costs!!

Your aim should be to do the perfect nail with your brush so that you don't have to buff very much at all at the end. This takes time and the skills that you will learn in 'nailclass'. You are new .. no one said it was easy ... don't push the river but instead learn to do every step of your application perfectly, from PREP to finish.

Finishing time for me is about 10 minutes.
