Anyone attempted ombre on themselves?

So-as the title says really.. I have bob length hair and would like to do it ombre style like the pics I've attached but am debating whether or not this would be possible to go about doing myself?
Any of you done it? .. If so, how did you go about it? And how did it turn out?
Would be greatful and intrigued to hear how you got on?

My class mate done and I didn't really like it lol she left it like a line there so I don't like that looking ;p
