As the title says is there anyone here that has had this done ?

It is something I am considering and would really like to hear from those first hand who have had it

If you have had it done but dont want to post on the forum please PM me .

One of my upper eyelids hangs so much that i am starting to see a permanent 'shadow from it and my eyes fell so 'heavy'

There is a brilliant plastic surgeon near me but still want opinions from the 'end user '

My mum is considering this so I'm interested in the answers x

What was her recovery time and did she say she was in any pain at all ? Did she just have sedation or general ?

My mum had hers done. It looked amazing. I was worried it was going to look 'tight' but it looked very natural. She did however, split her stitches putting her contact lenses in. Just something to be wary of lol.

It affects her vision, her gp referred her to plastic surgery and they agreed it wasn't classed as cosmetic as it is causing problems x

I'm interested in this also. I had bels palsy years ago, so my one eyelid is droopy. I'm going to ask my doctor about possible surgery to correct it.

Glad she liked the result and I don't wear contact lenses -lol

How long did the bruising last and I have read that your vision may be blurred for a few days after . Was that the case with her and did she have a general or just sedation ?

She had very minimal bruising and swelling, and her vision was fine. She just had to be careful in the sun for quite a while afterwards to avoid scarring. Its lasted a good 12 years, you can just see it starting to sag again slightly, but that's obviously to do with age. She had general, shes a big wimp lol She did pay to go private though, i don't know whether that would make a difference.

My mum had this last Monday on the NHS.

Her optician suggested she see her doctor as it was affecting her vision.

She's slightly bruised and swollen but not in pain, she was expecting it to hurt a lot more.

Despite the bruising she already looks a lot better!

Taking arnica tablets before and after surgery really does minimise bruising which in turn minimises pain. I had breast augmentation and asked the surgeon at my consultation if I could take arnica and he wholeheartedly encouraged it. I had no bruising and the only pain was around the stitches if I stretched.
I also gave arnica to my dog prior to being spayed and you would never have known she's had an op!

I've had surgery twice on my left eyelid to correct a dropping eyelid, I was a forceps delivery when I was born, the doctor delivering me caught a muscle affecting my eye and it was droopy. I had my lid lifted at 4 then again when I was 9, although it looks better, be wary...it can make you blink out of time, I went through my entire childhood being bullied for it, just something to consider xxx

So sorry just realised there have been more replies . Thank you everyone for your responses

I have booked a consultation for 28th this month just to chat to the surgeon .

I have realised today that there is a noticeable difference between my eyes . My right eye although a bit 'hooded I can put up with but my left defo much worse and the permanent 'shadow ' I see is driving me nuts and my eye feels so heavy .

I think I am worried about reading your vision is blurry for a few days and the swelling gets worse 2 7 3rd day so if anyone can give experience of this would be great - Even second hand from your 'mums'

To the poster above . maybe the problem was that they only did the one eye do you think ?

Decided to go for a consultation on Thursday - Just to find out the ins and outs but if anyone else has anything to add please do

Though I would update .

After much consideration I decided NOT to go ahead with surgery . Although it is a very , very slim chance there is still a risk of sight loss which i decided was just not worth it

Instead I have gone to my 'facialist ' and have been having electrical facials . She has concentrated on my eyes and has given me eye exercises to do at home

After six treatments I can honestly say that my eyes are greatly improved . I am going to continue going and they should improve further. I am so glad I went down this route as not only have my eyes improved but also my face in general

Thank you for your reply s
