Hi everyone,

I did a charity waxing the other night FIREMEN very nice !! anyway all of them were ok Except 2 who had there arms done they came up in white spots/ lumpy things and it was itchy, the other arms and legs and backs were ok, was it just a coinsidence that two people had an elergic reaction or was it something else??? and yes they all signed a disclaimer etc.... Thank god!!

Charmaine

This sounds like hives - did it look like nettle rash?
This happens sometimes, but more so if someone has never been waxed before. It normally goes within 24 hrs :)

Ditto to all of this. A cold compress, calamine lotion, aloe vera gel, etc, will help to take the heat and itch out of the skin, although as Zoe said the symptoms will usually disappear on their own within a few hours and are rarely cause for concern. It's simply part of the skin's immune response to what it thinks is an attack. Some folks also find an antihistamine tablet or cream can help, but clients would need to check this with a pharmacist first.
