Hi

I need some help with the nail polish I use. I'm new to doing nails and want to be able to retail nail polish when I do clients or parties etc. I purchased loads of sparitual polish but haven't been able to sell them, despite trying to sell at lower than the RRP! I was thinking of getting some Attitude polish instead which I can buy for £*.** plus vat, and could then try and sell for £3.50. But I don't want it to be bad quality. What does everyone think?

Ok, first of all welcome to the site from a fellow NSI geek

The one thing they don't teach you at 'Nail School' is how to retail. It can be very hard for some, I know I used to be terrible at it.
Do a search on retailing, Sarah (Sassy Hassy) has given some fantastic advise on it. There is a knack to it, believe it or not, lol. I would not change your polish range, just learn how to sell it.

I have never used Attitude, but in my opinion (based on price/apperance etc) Sparitual is a far superior range. You are using a fantastic quality product (NSI Balance), you have paid out for good quality training, I would maintain those standards and retail good quality products.

There are so many good things you can say about Sparitual polishes, i.e Vegan, contain no DBP, bottles designed by Ferrari, rubber patented handle for ease of application etc etc. Researching/knowing your product will help you to sell it.

I sincerely hope this helps you. Good Luck xx

Hun, before you splash out on more polishes to retail, think about why you haven't been able to shift the Sparitual ones you've already got.

Are they duplicate colours of ones you work with? If they are, when you have finished the treatment, why not just ask the client if they would be interested in buying the colour for home use. Or, for instance, if you have painted fingernails you could suggest they buy the colour so they can paint their own toes to match at home. (Unless of course you can persuade them to have both treatments.)

If they not duplicate colours, you may as well just use them.

With regard to Attitude polishes, I don't use them so I can't really comment, but they may not be desirable enough for clients to buy, imo.

Hope that helps

Hi

Yes I agree, Sparitual is a really nice range and ideally I would like to stay with that as the quality is fab. I did a 'nail party' at my sisters house soon after I qualified and I didn't sell a single bottle! i think I will take your advice and do a search on retailing...

Thanks for the advice.
