Throughout the month of April, ethical hair and beauty brand Aveda will be asking its UK network of partners to join a global effort to raise $3.5million (approx £2.6million) for Earth Month. The annual cause calls on Aveda members to take part in organised events or to set up individual fundraising activities, with the proceeds directed towards helping protect clean water for worldwide communities at most in need. Aveda, the activist-based brand, points out that one in seven people around the world do not have access to clean water.
The Aveda Walk for Water campaign is one way to get involved. Held locally across the country by Aveda salons and spas, participants will cover six kilometres the average distance that women in developing countries walk to collect water each day. Additionally, the companys Light the Way soy wax candle goes on sale for £15, with all the profits going to the Earth Month fund.
