Hiya, i use and have only ever used Nsi Balance Gels.
I'm really happy with them other than one MAJOR problem that i am finding (and one small one, but i think i'm just whinging here).

When i've applied a layer of the gel, cured for 120 seconds in a 36 watt lamp (provided by nsi and is the recommended lamp to use and no my bulbs are not faulty i have replaced them ..... twice!), i then use nsi Cleanse to wipe away the tacky layer, and VOILLA .... it's patchy, and i mean really patchy, it literally looks like perfect circles of gel and then bare nail patches. As i build up the layers it only gets worse and no amount of filing or buffing after hides it.
please tell me this isnt a common problem with nsi balance gels as i have practically the whole range!!
if anyone knows that i am doing something horribly wrong pleassseeee any help is wanted.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

I've been using NSI Balance Gels too, and is all i have ever used. I've never seen this happening before, and i have never heard about it happening.

I've only been using for 2 months, as i'm new to it all, so i'm not too sure why it's happening, or how too sort it  Sorry.

HTH

Sam :) x

Laura - Can you give me some more details on the steps you are taking? Are you getting patches with a Builder Gel or Finish Clear?

Hi, from your explanation I believe your problem is "Balding" This is where the UV Gel product fails to cover and resists adhesion to the natural nail or the pre-existing enhancement as it cures, creating bald spots on the finished gel enhancement. This can happen with both sculpting gel and/or UV top coats.
Some of the reasons are as follows:
(1) Improper Preparation
(2) Oil or Dust left behind from wiping the enhancements ( do not touch the gel enhancement with your fingers and ensure you have removed all dust filings.) *** also watch that your files and buffers do not have oil on them***
(3) Insufficient coverage of UV gel product during application - this can cause the gel to shrink away slightly as it cures and leave bare areas
(4) The gel enhancement has been buffed too smooth before applying the final coat of sculpting gel or UV top coat, making the UV gel product unable to adhere.

I trust this helps.

I think Andrea's advice is GREAT. I think the real question is, is this a common problem for you???

If it is not just a one off occurrence then you need to look carefully at all the things Andrea has pointed out to you.
