Hi, have you enquired at your local college ?

They usually have excellent NVQ courses,

if you have Barbering experience they may allow you to do the wet shave unit on its own, :)

NVQ2 Barbering covers a small amount of shaving and NVQ3 covers more shaving ans beard shaping as well as cutting.

Ahh how things change , lol
this must have all changed as I did my NVQ Barbering course in 2002
and we still had to cover the whole lot ,

We had to do a whole lot of wet shaving and also had to do loads of different beared shaping too,

I think back then they were thinking of dividing up the course into different parts , and bringing out a level three
so it must be a lot more spread out now then , :)

Just found this

Students will be required to complete the following units to achieve their NVQ Level 2 in Barbering: • G1 – Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety • G5 – Give a positive impression of yourself and your organisation • G7 – Advise and consult with clients • G8 – Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work • H7 – Cut hair using basic Barbering techniques • H8 – Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques • H9 – Shampoo and condition hair and scalp • H13 – Change hair colour using basic techniques • H14 – Dry hair to shape to create finished looks for men

This is an ideal course for those who are not qualifeid in hairdressing and just want to specialise in mens. I am doing the barbering Cutting and drying units only though as I have most of these units in Ladies hairdressing so i am just adding to that.
