What do you charge charge for this service?

Im charging the same has a full set of highlights, £40.00 but unsure if this is too much or not enough , Plus cut/finish on top.

All of a sudden people have just asked for this service , even though been round a while....

How long does it also take you? At min takes me a while if hair is long, upto an hour😬.

Thanks x

£85 including a cut and blow dry.. Are you mobile though?

For balayage I tend to charge the same as foils, if it is a half head or full head balayage unless it is a heavy balayage like ombre then it would be more. If they are darkening the base then I would add on a glossing/tinting price and also add on for the toner. Everything is itemised on the reciepts so they can see the breakdown of what they are paying for.

In someways I think if anything balayage should be more expensive as it is a more specialised service, I think as hairdressers we have a tendency to think about product costs but the client is also paying for your expertise. 👍

How do you section your ombrè? I hate when I need to do a root colour and balayage the ends but can't do it in the same process! I've been overcoming it by doing it using foils but I'd prefer to be able to do It completely freehand!

I'm the same if I'm doing root ring first then I charge for that so £35
If balayage end then I charge like half head foils so £50
If having toner then £15
Cut & blowdry £25
If it's a heavy app on ends like ombré then I charge full head foils £60
Tbf my 2015 prices do need to go up I'm due a yearly price change
I break all mine down and charge them separate so they can see how much work ls involved, products used ect and what there paying for balayages are not cheap for us to do so I do it like this so the client can see this hth x

Hi geeks. Do you all have an annual price increase or try to stay competitive within your area?

I paint my root colour on super thick then after I take a centre parting from forehead to nape and diagonal forwards from the occipital bone to corner hair line I smudge the tint down between my fingers and put the bleach on the ends and smudge up so they meet in the middle, I keep doing diagonal forwards then go into a horse shoe :)

I charge between £60-£80 including toner for balayage.

Personally I don't understand charging for a toner.. How do you explain it to a client if they ask?

Your hair went really yellowy so I used a toner and I'm charging you for it?

I think it should be included in prices

I agree, i include toner in my price. If I don't need one more profit.

I charge slightly less for balyage as it takes us less time. I charge £130 for a full head of highlights and £110 for balyage. Charge an extra £40 for darkening the root.

Well If they have previously had a lot of colour on there ends it's not going to lift to a lovely perfect blonde first time so I explain they may need a toner (to make it more of a professional looking blonde) as to a bleach looking home dyed blonde that's how I explain it I charge sep for this as iv used an extra product iv had to buy why wouldn't I charge extra for it x

Even if they just want a nice caramel il explain the toner will take that harsh brass look off and make it look a more professional caramel again this is only if a client has a lot of colour build up on the ends and is going to be stubborn to get to the perfect colour they have picked in the book thru just lightener alone as long as you explain it well to them in terms they would understand they don't mind paying extra well my clients have it I show them before I use it and after and there like oh yes I see wot you mean it really makes a difference x
