Hi geeks,

I’ve just bought my first home and I had my heart set on laminate for my beauty room, as I currently have carpet in my old room and I’ve worked ok on laminate previously.

The flooring guy recommended vinyl as it would be more waterproof and he’s done a few salons in it...but do you have any experience removing wax from it?

I’ve got it in the new bathroom and will eventually be replacing it as where I’ve been decorating everywhere paint just gets absorbed instead of wiping off so again concerned about wax.

The softer and warmer vinyl would be better than laminate for clients feet and would save me removing skirting (which has proved very difficult in other rooms), but if the vinyl cleans well and wax remover doesn’t affect it then I don’t see why not as it would save some money.

Have you had any vinyl/wax disasters?

Thanks for any help. I’m working on the house 6am-8pm everyday so I might not respond right away but really appreciate responses as I have to decide soon so I can work

Vinyl will be fine. If you spill any wax it can easily be removed with either surgical spirit or wax equipment remover

Also seraclean is very good both for wax spills on floor plus cleaning up your wax pot. Good luck with your new venture
