Best pre lightener for freehand and balayage work?

Texture wise use a clay based bleach, I use loreal freehand techniques. Clay lighteners are far easier to paint with. But if you want mixinum lift for hitting the ashier and lighter blondes I go with Platinium Plus (paste lightener). If you use cling film it doesn't dry out and keeps on working.
