So my brand new Bio lamp came in a few weeks ago, and I used it for the first time this weekend.

I'm just wondering... what's the point of the sliding bottom? I find it to be really annoying... it keeps sliding all over the place because I have to tilt my light up slightly on the table. It seems like it's supposed to allow you to cure just four fingers as your thumb rests under the tray, and then you cure your thumb last... but I'm used to doing all five at once and this is really annoying.

Can I just take it out??

I find the Bio lamp great, particularly as you can take the base out - ideal when doing feet. I cure four fingers at a time and then the two thumbs at the end. Putting five fingers under the lamp at a time will not ensure the thumbs are fully cured.

You can work without the base if you prefer - very handy at times.:)

I'm not familiar with the biosculpture lamp, but if its like the ezflow one, then the sliding bottom starts and stops the timer. I.e. if you take your hand out for any reason, the timer stops, then restarts from the point it stopped when you put your hand back in.

The Bio lamp is different - the sliding base does not stop the timer but I agree it is great when doing the feet - I just take out the base and then I can place the lamp over the whole foot without the client having to move their feet and slide them in - I just pick it up and place it over the foot IYKWIM. Client is usually relaxing on my couch!

Jo

hi i have a bio lamp too and the only reason i can come up with for the sliding base is Gel Toes. its very handy for putting over toes.

Ohhh so I guess taking the slide out doesn't affect the curing power?
I never thought about how easy it would be for pedicures. Thanks ladies! <3

I was told by Bio Sculpture it was also better for hands being closer to to light, as I bought my lamp before buying the sliding base
