Heya can anyone help?

I am bio sculpture trained & do gel overlays all the time (mainly french) It always takes me an hour & half to complete a full set but I was wondering if this is too long as other salons do them in an hour some less!!! I have tried but can't seem to go any quicker!

Also I really struggle with infills & they take me just as long, if not longer!! I do everything I was shown when I did my original training take care not to overbuff, use the correct grit files etc. I just dread doing them but fear I am losing business by not encouraging my client's to return or infills due to my lack of confidence etc.

If anyone can offer a tutorial or advice I would be really grateful as it is really worrying me that I still struggle after all this time

Thank you

Time will come with experience:hug:

And...its not a race!

I take around 45 mins for a Natural Nail Overlay, around 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 for sculpts and 'around' an hour for infils.

i've been doing it 5 years:eek:

Dont worry speed will come, if your doing a good job your clients will be more than happy:hug:

Look at it this way..

1) If you did colour NNO's with 1 layer clear, 2 layers colour, then 1 layer sealer gel and cure 2 fingers at a time, it would take 35 mins just to cure them, let alone apply them and chat to the client a bit as well.

2) If you did pink French NNO's it could take 45 mins due to the extra layer involved.

I can see how as Minkus says, you might get your times down to under an hour with lots of practice, but if you are newish it will take longer. A lot of clients enjoy the time it takes, as they can relax and enjoy it. If they felt rushed, they probably wouldn't come back :green:

It does all come with practise. i can now do overlays in just under an hour and overlays in over an hour, about hour and half. Dont worry thou, my problem at the moment is with doing tips, im not very confident in doing them, they dont seem to be very strong after ive done them, and get lifting at the sides of some of them. But with overlays i would say ive got it down to a t, with no problems. I love overlays!! x

I keep watching the dvd i bought from Bio, on the tips to make sure i am doing everything right and i am, so i just hate doing them, lol. x

Goodness no. Get yourself on a sculpting course with Bio and learn Free Edge gel...no silk needed If I'm really pushed for time I can now complete a full set of Bio sculpts in about 50 minutes, and they are way stronger than tips!
