When clients have banged a nail, I have seen that sometimes they get these small black lines in the nail, that looks like dirt, but I know that is is not. Is it a blood extravasation?

It's known as a splinter haemorrhage which is Basically bleeding under the nails. Often this is caused by physical damage and trauma for example hitting the nail and in those who do a lot of manual work
There's another disorder called Melanonychia, these are vertical pigmented bands often described as nail moles which usually form in the matrix. It can (not always) signify a malignant melanoma or lesion however dark streaks in dark skinned people is fairly common.

Severly ridged nails can sometimes give off this look.

how long ago did the client injur the finger(s)?

she was lifting tiles for a terrase in her garden and lost a nail and got these black streaks right below the smileline. so i guess its blood. There is no pain she says only after she hit her finger. I was just wondering if I can do anything or if just needs to grow out

Damage like this will grow out.

bagpuss has beat me to it :) it'll grow out makova
