I have my first booking for bridal make up which is great, although a little nervous! I am doing the bridesmaids as well, i just wanted some advice on what you would charge for bridesmaids, i am assuming it is less than the bride, but wondered what the difference would be for the bridesmaids, to make them less expensive than the bride?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

What you charge would depend on your skill, experience, quality of products and general charges for bridal make-up in your area. As you have only just trained in make-up, you would not really be expected to charge what a much more experienced and skillful make-up artist charges and the products in your kit would need to reflect your prices as well.

Do you have the tools of the trade to cover well blemishes, dark circles and spots? Are you able to match your foundations to all skin types and tones? Do you have an understanding of your products eg. SPF and light reflective properties etc... and what photographs well and what doesn't? These are all the things you need to consider when thinking about your prices.

The bride generally gets charged more than the other bridal party members because you give her the most attention to her make-up ie. she takes longer. I think you will find that the price difference is about £20. Your bride should have an in depth and detailed trial and although it is recommended for other party members, this does not usually happen. Therefore I charge a small surgarge for the bridal party who do not have a trial as you will need to spend a little more time with on the wedding day.

Hope this helps.
