brown spots on nails?

ive just soaked off my mums overlays and on both hands she has a brown spot on some of her nails. she does smoke but its on both hands. Im worried I have done something to damage her nails.
I used fusion products.
any ideas???

It could possibly be the start of a bacterial infection.

Was there much lifting on the nails or is the spot in the centre of the nail?

Had you rebalanced these nails a few times or was it a new set?

this is what I'm thinking as well, maybe caused by lifting

Or pocket lifting....which is why I asked about the placement of the spots....need more info to get to the bottom of it!

i agree can you give more info on how many treatments she has had and what kind?

they have been infilled once and they were lifting. the spot is in the middle of the nail.
Is a bacterial infection not green?
